Follow Your Strengths

Think about this statement by my Strengths Teacher, Curt Liesveld, for a moment: People get better by “working with what they’ve got rather than what they’re not.” Too often we spend our time focusing on what we are “not” at work, at home, and in our relationships.

There is a direct and measurable relationship between employee engagement and an organization’s success.

Employees who know that they are working towards goals that drive business outcomes, as well as their own goals for professional growth and learning, develop ownership in the organization’s success that boosts employee engagement. 

There will be a best practices Round Table discussion.  Bring your items you would like to discuss.

Learning Objectives

a.     Outline and discuss 5 steps to successful change management

b.    Using recent experience in leading the transformation of the human resources department at FBL Financial Group, demonstrate how these steps assimilate in the process of transforming a traditional human resources function to Strategic HR

c.       Provide information on the foundation for becoming a strategic HR function

About our presenter:

Mark Hudson or Shuttleworth & Ingersoll as well as the Iowa SHRM State Concil Legislative chair will provide a legislative and legal human resources update.

Objectives:

(1) Address regulatory reform throughout the employment law field

(2) Provide update on recent case law as it relates to the human resources field

(3) Analyze and discuss legislative trends and likely future issues of relevance in the workplace

Mark Hudson of Shuttleworth & Ingersoll and also Iowa SHRM State Council Legislative Chair will provide a legislative and legal update to meeting attendees.

Identity Theft in the Workplace and its Impact on HR will be presented by Kris Evans.

We will hold a Roundtable Discussion with attendees, sharing best practices and ideas on HR and benefit related topics.
