Chapter members will meet informally and discuss timely HR topics and share best practices.

Amy Brink from Iowa Workforce Development will be speaking about Skilled Iowa, services available for employers as well as job seekers. She will also explain how our job order system links up with job seekers.

LaDonna Fechtling from Indian Hills Community College will be speaking about Youth Program, On the Job Training (OJT) and Metrix Learning.

In this session you will explore how we as leaders can do a much better job of developing people by being highly effective coaches. Through an interactive exercise, we’ll understand the impact of the leader’s thinking and its enormous influence on the behavior of others.

At this meeting chapter members share best practices on the topics YOU want to know more about.  There is always a great sharing of ideas and thoughts, one of the many valuable chapter meetings that are held.

Traditional background screening identifies past behaviors of job applicants that may be unacceptable. While important, this is only a part of the complete picture. Social media searches identify an applicant’s current behavior, and this information provides a more complete picture of job applicants. Many employers are conducting social media checks with internal resources.
