Phil Pitzen Biography
With the United States Department of Homeland Security since shortly after 9/11, Pitzen has had occasion to serve as the Assistant Federal Security Director and most recently as a Protective Security Advisor assigned to Iowa. Prior to 9/11, he was with the United States Department of Justice and a member of the six person Security Advisory Group.
Pitzen was personally awarded the Award for Excellence by Secretary Chertoff in 2008. His formal education consists of a Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, complemented by three advanced degrees, including a doctorate in the administration of justice.
He lives in the Des Moines metro and offices with the U.S. Secret Service.
