Losing a friend or family member is hard, now imagine when that person isn't related by blood, but associated by the blood, sweat and tears put in at your organization? When that person is a fellow collegue.

One of the trends that is on the rise is the level of grief that team members experience with the loss of loved ones and even co-workers, and how do you appropriately and empathetically handle those situations.

Kevin plans to talk through:

What grief is
Talking to a grieving team member (what to say, and what not to say)
Balancing compassion and responsibility
When a team member is seriously ill
When a team member passes away

We will also have time to open the floor for discussion on best practices and things people have come across in these specific and difficult situations.

About your speaker: Kevin Glesner, Lead Chaplain at Vermeer

Kevin graduated with honors from Mt. St. Clare College with a B.A. in Business Administration. He completed his Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree at Duke University. Kevin is an ordained United Methodist pastor and has served churches in Iowa and North Carolina. He is endorsed as a workplace, civil air patrol, and military chaplain through the United Methodist Church. He is a professional member of the National Institute of Business and Industrial Chaplains (NIBIC). Kevin is entering his fourth decade of marriage and is the proud father of three and grandfather of five. He is an avid cyclist, enjoys fishing, lure making, doing artwork, and kayaking.
