    Corinne Peek-Asa, PhD is the Associate Dean for Research at the University of Iowa, College of Public Health, Professor in the Department of Occupational and Environmental Health. She is the Director of the CDC-funded Injury Prevention Research Center and is the Principal Investigator for the current University of Iowa International Injury Training program. 

    Corinne received a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of New Mexico, and her MPH and PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles. She served on the faculty at UCLA until 2001, when she joined the University of Iowa.

    Corinne’s workplace violence research has involved schools, health care facilities, law enforcement and security agencies, government, and both large and small companies. She has evaluated policies and legislation to reduce workplace violence prevention and developed and disseminated prevention strategies.  She is the past-President of the Society for the Advancement of Violence and Injury Research, served on the NIOSH Board of Scientific Counselors from 2012 - 2015 and was named a 2010 ResearchAmerica! Public Health Hero.
